Living hope foundation is taking education to the rural  kalindi village of Mumbwa district. The main goal is to significantly reduce the illiteracy levels in this community where schools are very far from this community. LIHOF in partnership with the local villagers,  have managed to build a one by two classroom block up to a roof level as shown above . The LAZ delegation led by  Ms Linda Kasonde visited living hope foundation center and  donated a total of 145 girls  shoes to the LIHOF pupils. The Donation event also attracted some members of the press representing different media houses. The donation event began by an opening prayer from Ms Ngoma a volunteer teacher at LIHOF. The Director of LIHOF addressed the students who were waiting in anticipation  of the visit of the LAZ Team. The youth day cerebrations took place on the 10th of march 2017. The feeding program at LIHOF Roma center is going on very well. The children are happy to see that there is a feeding program going on at the center. With this intervention, we have seen quiet a number of improved school classroom attendance, and the enrollment of school children has also improved. The feeding program has created a sense of willingness on the part of the children to fully participate in the school activities such as classwork, sports, recreation and drama performances. The first quarter of this year saw an increment in the number of school pupils at the center compared to the previous years .This has however led to shortage of chairs and toys for primary school girls and boys and also shortage of desks for grades 1-7. in the case of baby class the school currently has only one mattress to carter for 14 pre-school children and this has proved to be a challenge especially that these children after lunch hour normally like to have some rest .
